This unit stands apart from modern modifications such as “high-gain” or “range expansion”; it has been meticulously tuned with the sole aim of replicating the feel of a vintage TS808. The first area we focused on was the buffer tone at the input. By reworking this, we’ve recreated the tightness, separation, and natural clarity characteristic of vintage units. Even when used on its own, the sound has well-defined contours, ensuring that picking nuances are never lost. This character carries over when the effect is engaged, maintaining tightness in the low end while eliminating unwanted bloat. The highs are balanced to be natural and easy on the ears, without becoming overly bright. The result is an amp-like, easy-to-use pedal that delivers a TS sound with a solid core that won’t get lost in a band ensemble. This modification prioritizes the original TS808’s texture and musical versatility over flashiness.
